Two years ago I felt as though smooth jazz was being underserved

in the Los Angeles area. No one was playing smooth jazz anymore, stations were now converting to a new genre called smooth. This new genre allowed multiple radio stations in the greater Los Angeles area to have greater flexibility in their playlists. But have you ever wondered why most radio stations play the same ten songs over and over again? Have you ever wanted them to implement a larger list of songs? I can only take so much repetition before I say enough is enough. That is what inspired me to setup my own radio station. Originally I wanted to open up my own terrestrial (that’s what they call radio stations that are accessible by turning the dial on your radio in your car) station, but the price was more than 20 TIMES THE PRICE OF MY HOUSE!!!! I did a little more research and found I could still accomplish my goal; using the Internet, I could cut my costs down and reach an even larger audience than I could if I purchased the terrestrial station (and I wouldn’t break my back under an enormous pile of debt haha). While during the first few months I had many sleepless nights wondering why my site wouldn’t upload to the Internet or why my listenership was so low, I’ve really learned a lot about the Internet over these two years and wouldn’t trade it for the world. I’ve started to pursue a goal I set for myself over 35 years ago when I just graduated from USC and was only starting out in the broadcasting industry.
